About Brown Library

The Brown Library is dedicated to serving all the students, faculty, and staff of Virginia Western Community College. The library offers access to books, scholarly journals, research databases, study spaces, computers, printing services, research assistance, and more! Library staff are located on all three floors to assist you.

Where are things in the Brown Library?

  • 2nd floor (top floor): Library

    books, DVDs, study rooms, quiet space, research help, writing help, course reserves, computers
  • 1st floor (main floor): Academic Link

    printer, tutoring, academic coaching, study rooms, computers, vending machines
  • Ground floor (bottom floor): Testing Center

    placement tests, online tests, make-up testing, computers, vending machines, library classroom

Writing & Research Help

Located on the 2nd floor (top floor) of Brown Library, the Writing & Research Center helps students with assignments from any VWCC course. We will help you throughout all stages of the research & writing process--from finding high-quality information to critiquing a rough draft or to citing sources.
