Faculty Library Services

Please submit your suggestions or purchases of new library materials at any time. Faculty recommendations are a high priority. Fill out the form below or contact Dale Dulaney.

You can see the materials currently on Course Reserve using the library's catalog. In the search box, enter a professor's name, course name, course number, or book title and choose the option to search Course Reserves.

To place items in the Reserves collection, instructors should contact Dale Dulaney, Collections Librarian.

Unless you indicate otherwise, reserve items are placed on two-hour reserve and must be used on the top floor of the Brown Library building.

Textbooks: Instructors are encouraged to place their own extra copies of textbooks they are using on reserve.

Personal and departmental materials: Faculty may place departmental or personal materials on reserve so they will be accessible to students for classroom assignments. The library cannot guarantee the security of these items. It may be necessary for the library to add barcodes, labels, or other identifying marks on the materials. Consult with the Collections Librarian for more information.

Library materials: Items you select will be placed on reserve for no longer than one academic year. We will contact you to determine their status periodically during the year.

All other items: Reserves are not limited to books. Reserves items can include DVDs, CDs, physical items like minerals, anatomical study aides, etc. Other materials such as photocopies, past tests, and journal issues may also be placed on reserve.

Confidentiality: The library will protect student confidentiality by not disclosing circulation records. Information that does not violate student confidentiality, like the number of times an item circulates, can be disclosed.

Materials obtained through Interlibrary Loan cannot be placed on reserve. This violates the terms of our Interlibrary Loan agreement.
