Today, Life Sciences topics and tools are present in almost all disciplines of science and technology. MIT is the leader in interdisciplinary Life Sciences research and education, and multiple departments offer majors and minors that have a Life Sciences focus. Here are a set of MIT courses that are Life Sciences-based. Pursuing an education in Life Sciences is both exciting and challenging, and we hope you experience both in viewing this collation!

 

PhET provides fun, free, interactive, research-based science and mathematics simulations. PHET extensively tests and evaluates each simulation to ensure educational effectiveness.

Visibile Body

Visible Body is an online app and website that shows you interactive images, videos, and other content about the human body. Starting with cells and going all the way to full-body systems, this product lets you see inside the body from any device.

To use the full website version on Firefox, Chrome, or Safari, click on the link above and log into the portal if you are off campus. Once you log in, you'll be taken to the homepage for Visible Body and you can choose the option for Anatomy & Physiology:

On the next page, click "Launch Anatomy & Physiology"

Choose "Launch Anatomy & Physiology"

Be patient! It will take a few seconds for Visible Body to load. Once the homepage has loaded, you'll see all of the modules for different body systems on the left hand side of the screen in the red bar. You can choose which parts to explore and use your mouse to move through the information.
