For over 15 years, Virginia Western has been using expensive video conferencing systems to deliver synchronous instruction to various distance sites across the state. In 2019, the VCCS purchased an Enterprise Zoom license, which grants free video conferencing access to all community college faculty, staff, and students across the state. In response, all Virginia Western classrooms on the main campus are equipped with microphones, cameras, and control systems for video conferencing and lecture capture.
