In 2013, Virginia Western published its final printed college catalog. This exhibit showcases most of the catalogs of that 48-year print run.
A college catalog is an official publication that contains information about the college, its programs, course descriptions, policies and campus maps. These print catalogs contained photographs of campus life and unique covers. Each was an important tool for students in the year it was published and was an integral and necessary part of every student's time at Virginia Western. Printed catalogs have now been entirely replaced by a site map on the college's website.
Today these print catalogs are a mirror of Virginia Western through time. The first draft of the original catalog, not shown, was for the Community College in Roanoke which would soon be renamed Virginia Western Community College.
